Unfortunately, it’s that sad time of the year again when we have to say goodbye to some of the crew here, who are off following the endless summer. Jarrod Brown and Honza Lasko, are the first to make the move. This is Honza’s third ‘tour of duty’ here, and his contribution and commitment to or course continually blows us away….
When Honza first arrived he was a very shy little lad from the Czech Republic who could hardly speak a word of English. In the true Czech style he was head down and bum up and quickly carved himself a spot here as an asset to our factory team. To our delight, he returned the following season and was promoted to chief assembler. He slotted right back in there again this year too.
But there’s a bit more to Honza than simply being a great factory man. Apparently back in the Republic, he’s a kayaking legend. Well he’s a bit of one here now to. The first decent of Tree Trunk was a head turner, but running Aratiatia the other day, really stopped the traffic!!!!! In fact I don’t think there is anything left here to run, that Honza hasn’t already quietly knuckled down to in his very unassuming way and styled down. He’d disappear for the weekend and then return the following Monday with his memory stick just loaded with a bunch more outstanding images of the rivers he’d just run.
Wait there’s more, if that’s not enough, Honza is also our main gateway and contact for the supply and distribution of our Kayaks in the Czech Republic, with his partner, Ales Krivka. Ales was our first ever Czech helper and set the standard here. They are the ‘Kayak Fanatic’ Team, great lads and awesome to have them helping us out. akrivka@alltech.com
It adds a whole new meaning to the word, ‘Pro-Boater’, because he truly is, and delivers so much for so little. We love that, and look forward to seeing him back here next season to do it all over again. Honza’s back home right now preparing for a huge kayaking expedition though a very wild part of the world never to have seen the like before. More on that soon but check out there transportation!!!!
